Here are some resources for you to try in your classrooms.
C’est quoi practice
This worksheet is an opportunity to expose learners to key phrases in circumlocution (the ability to talk around words). It makes an ideal lead-in to a game of tabou and some great descriptive speaking and writing exercises!
Exit ticket choice board
Exit tickets are so important, but coming up with relevant prompts for every day can be difficult. This choice board allows students to keep their own knowledge log and represent their perception of the day’s learning using a variety of prompts. Wins all around!
Comprehension activity: “Ma Vie au Soleil” by Keen’V
Music videos, anyone? This activity provides cards that students can put in chronological order and sort according to what they see in this amusing video about escaping work for a tropical vacation.
Conditionnel discovery activity
Perfect for a PACE lesson, this activity exposes learners to the conditional mood and “si/resultat” clauses by having them sort hypothetical sentences into logical and illogical piles. Goofy grammar for the win!
Cultural lenses questionnaire
Examining one’s own cultural perspective can be incredibly helpful in processing reactions to information about the target culture. This questionnaire is a great way to get your students to think critically about their own worldviews and life experiences that have shaped them. (in French for upper levels, in English for lower levels!)
